The Wee Bonnie Bakery is a cottage food business in Chicago selling Scottish inspired treats like Shortbread, Millionaire Shortbread, and Empire Biscuits.
Colin (the baker and owner) hand bakes comfort foods inspired by snacks from his childhood in Wick, Scotland.
Why not try some afternoon tea specials with classic cakes like Victoria Sponge, Fondant Fancies, and Carrot Cake. If you have a celebration coming up, why not ask for a Custom Celebration Cake made to suit any occasion.

About the Baker
I am a home baker from Wick, Scotland who began creating sweet treats in 2014 on Snapchat and YouTube - mostly for attention for baking has grown immensely over the years especially when I baked along with the Great British Bake off. My new passion is recreating childhood snacks like Jammie Dodgers and Jaffa Cakes. My favorite thing to bake is my family Shortbread, which goes well with a dram of whisky on a cold winter night.

“As Cooked on TikTok” by Penguin Randomhouse
During everyone’s favorite year 2020, I entered a recipe to be considered for the TikTok Cookbook “As Cooked on TikTok.”
The recipe I chose was based on my first viral video, a simple vanilla sponge cake with jam and buttercream frosting.
This became the ‘Level-Up Layer Cake’ based on the song used in the original video, and the leveling up of the cake layers. Let your creativity run wild using this recipe as a base for your cake baking.
My Goal
My goal is to provide hand made Scottish and UK snacks to the USA and create the comfort of Scotland in your own homes.
The Wee Bonnie Bakery is a small business right now and my next step is to get into a shared kitchen space in order to expand my production. I can currently ship Gift Boxes within Illinois, and provide snacks/cakes/cupcakes for pickup-only ordering within the Chicago area.
My dream is to open a brick and mortar space that resembles a Scottish living room, where you are welcomed in with a freshly baked item and a delicious cup of tea.
